Generate a Hold Statistics report

The Hold Statistics report is useful for identifying materials in high demand by your patrons or for collection development consideration. Use the report to see if you should purchase more copies of the most popular titles in your collection, based on the number of holds and reserves placed. It also includes interlibrary loans (ILLs) made to patrons of other schools.

To generate the report:

  1. Select Reports > Library Reports.
  2. Under Statistics, click Hold Statistics.
  3. In the Select by drop-down, select Title or Call Number. Then, enter a range.

      • All titles or call numbers: Leave both fields blank.
      • One title or call number: Enter the same in both fields.

    • You cannot use wildcards (?, *) in ranges.
  1. To limit the report to those titles requested a certain number of times, next to Include Titles with, select More than, Equal to, or Less than, and enter the desired number.
  2. Click Run Report.

Report Contents

The Hold Statistics report includes information about your titles that fulfilled holds, reserves, or ILLs.
It does not include statistics for requests that are still pending or were abandoned (that is, not picked up by the requesting patron).
For each title, the report lists the following information:

  • Title
  • Standard Number (the first one found in order of LCCN, ISBN, then ISSN)
  • Material Type
  • Total number of copies of the title
  • Number of holds, reserves, and ILLs this year
  • Number of holds, reserves, and ILLs last year
